A WEDDING EDITORIAL IN COLLABORATION WITH kat gillespie and woods quay.

In celebration of Central London’s new contemporary events venue, Woods Quay, this high-end wedding editorial was brought together to showcase this modern architectural dream, situated on London’s Southbank.

Woods Quay is an extraordinary new building moored on the banks of the River, basking in the revered riverscape from Waterloo Bridge towards Westminster and beyond.

The editorial was inspired by the venue’s wild natural surroundings and muted colour palette that feature throughout the building’s carefully designed interiors.

The Cormorant Deck offers a dramatic entrance and light-filled reception with views of the Southbank and a desirable 'heart of London' backdrop. Idyllically positioned to take in the panoramic river views with its floor to ceiling windows, the East Wing provides a gorgeous setting for an intimate, city celebration. And it's with this that our dramatic tablescape took inspiration.

Raw materials, such as stone, marble and granite were used to reflect the treasure-stricken riverbed. Contrasting textures with wild, overgrown grasses replicated the river marshes, while elements such as hand-made ceramic plates, gold cutlery and murky green hammered glass tumblers provided an understated and laid-back luxury. Textured cotton gauze table runners were used to emulate the water’s ever-moving tide, which were effortlessly draped from one end of the table, to the other, dramatically cascading off of the side.

For the bridal wear, we chose to feature three bridal wear designers who all provide a very minimalist and modern take to wedding gowns, but designs that were all equally different and contrasting from the other. Accessories were kept minimal, where we decided to showcase a selection of carefully chosen statement pieces from Gemima’s fine jewellery collection.
